RFID credentials for US Virgin Islands

Cruise volume at St Thomas, marinas, and a US logistics footing.

Charlotte Amalie is one of the busiest calls in the region, and the territory sits inside the US postal and dollar system, which changes the shipping and procurement conversation even though it does not change the technical one.

Decision framework

A familiar logistics footing does not simplify the credential.

Procurement here is often easier than elsewhere in the region, which can create the impression that the technical work is easier too. It is not. The installed reader estate is as varied as anywhere else, and a credential still has to be proved against the specific system at each property.

We establish the credential requirement per property from a working reference or technical record, regardless of how straightforward the shipping route looks.

Day and stay populations still separate

High cruise volume produces a large same-day population with no return relationship. It gets its own visually distinct, separately numbered range so end-of-day reconciliation does not depend on a reader.

Marinas carry longer tenures

Berth-holders and crew hold access over months, not nights. Their credentials are planned as a stable low-volume range with a retained sample, because they are the ones that must still be reproducible after a long gap.

Shipping ease is not a technical assurance

We can plan carton splits, labelling and a named receiver, and we report the finished range. We do not treat a simpler shipping route as evidence about duty treatment, transit times or system compatibility.

What we do not decide

Permissions, activation and entitlement rules stay with each property system.

Bring the system.
We will narrow the product.

Start with the property, use case, destination and what is known about the installed access environment.

Three controls before release. Each stage is reviewed separately so an attractive product direction never substitutes for technical or operational confirmation.
