RFID credentials for Antigua and Barbuda

A yachting calendar sitting on top of a resort calendar.

English Harbour and Falmouth give Antigua a marine season with its own events, crews and berth-holders, running alongside conventional resort occupancy. The two calendars peak together, and they need different credentials at the same moment.

Decision framework

A regatta is an event programme, not extra guests.

Sailing events bring a population that is credentialed by role — crew, shore team, official, guest — for a defined window, with access to areas a hotel guest never enters. Issuing that from room stock loses the role distinction the event exists to enforce.

We plan event credentials as their own release with role-coded ranges and a defined validity window, packed separately from room inventory so a busy desk can tell them apart without a reader.

Role coding has to survive the week

Colour helps identify a role at a glance but should not carry the whole control rule. We pair colour with a printed mark or number that stays legible in venue lighting and after several days of wear, and we confirm both on the approved sample.

Marine use is a harsher specification

Salt, sun and constant handling age a band faster than resort use. Where a credential is worn continuously across an event, the body and closure are approved against that pattern, not against a single-evening assumption.

Event stock has a defined end

An event credential that stays valid after the event is an open access population nobody owns. The validity window, the reclaim policy and the write-off decision are settled before quantities are fixed, because those choices change the number manufactured.

What we do not decide

Accreditation policy, area permissions and activation remain with the organiser and the venue system. We manufacture to the approved role ranges and report the finished numbering.

Bring the system.
We will narrow the product.

Start with the property, use case, destination and what is known about the installed access environment.

Three controls before release. Each stage is reviewed separately so an attractive product direction never substitutes for technical or operational confirmation.
